A standardized test is required. Please see below for acceptable tests.
9th - SSAT or ISEE. 10th - SSAT or ISEE. 11th - SSAT, ISEE, PSAT, SAT, ACT, or state or country-mandated test. 12th and PG - PSAT, SAT, ACT, or state or country-mandated test. Applicants whose first language is not English should submit scores from either a TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo test, unless they have attended a school for three or more years where English is the primary language of instruction. |

An interview is required of every applicant. Whenever possible, we prefer an on-campus interview and tour. If distance or finances make this impossible, we are happy to arrange a Zoom interview.
A graded Writing Sample is only required for 11th, 12th, and PG applicants. We also love to see video of you performing music, athletics, dance, theater, or any interest about which you are passionate. Video links can be included in the Multimedia section of the Candidate Profile, or on the Candidate Essays form. Be sure to access your Taft Admissions Portal to track receipt of your application materials and monitor the status of your application. All admission decisions are communicated via your Taft Admissions Portal.
